Casually Crafting Blog Hop – Hello

Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop, This months theme is Hello. For these projects I have used scrap card stock from the Brights collection, with a few additional stamps and tools. The ‘hello’ stamp is from the Life is Beautiful (now retired) stamp set, I hadn’t marked it up on my shelf as retired (there are plenty of current stamp sets which include a hello sentiment). I have also used Rainbow Glimmer Paper, the Butterfly Duet Punch and Playful Alphabet Dies for the extra project cards produced.

A Bright Hello

When I was planning my project, the weather was the coldest it’s been (so far, and hopefully no more) this winter, I decided I wanted them to be based around a vibrant and bright theme, to cheer the day. Therefore using the Brights colour collection was an obvious choice.

Project Colours

And on looking through my scrap card pockets, I remembered keeping the 1cm strips of card, produced when I spent an evening creating a pre-cut box of card bases and coloured layers to enable me to create cards more quickly. These would be perfect to create a rainbow effect using Adhesive Sheets. I created the rainbow layer by sticking the strips of card onto a Whisper White layer. Which I then cut a 4cm strip diagonally across this layer, the corners from which was used to create a ‘frame’ for the ‘hello’ (stamp from Life is Beautiful). I love the beautiful simplicity of this card.

This left a strip, which of course I used to create another project… card #2.

The HELLO was created using the Playful Alphabet dies, with butterflies created (from another rainbow scrap layer) using the Butterfly Duet Punch and antenna created from Butterfly Gala stamp set.

Which again created an extra HELLO element which needed to be utilised… resulting in card #3.

I was enjoying the theme so much and wanted to use up all my remaining strips of card, so I created a pair of gray granite cards with strips of Brights card and gilding flakes.

Now I was into creating something shiny… what is more shiny that the Rainbow Glimmer paper, so I created a flight of butterflies for card #5, my last one for this blog theme.

I hope these cards brighten your day, thankyou for looking.
