Casually Crafting Blog Hop – Masculine Makes

Welcome to our monthly Casually Crafting Blog Hop, we are a group of Stampin’ Up demonstrators, who would like to share our projects with you. We love cards that are simple and easy to make with just a few products, these would ideally suit beginner and casual crafter. We will be sharing our ideas on the 3rd Friday of each month and you can hop around the group and gather loads of inspiration. This months theme is Masculine Makes, for this project I have used the Sailing Home Bundle, which can be purchased at a 10% discount until 2-Jun-2020. As I have also used die cuts in this project, my project this month is more focused to a casual / avid crafter with a die cutting machine.

Sailing Home

Masculine makes are not my forte, I therefore resorted to one of my favourite bundles from the 2019-2020 Annual catalogue for this project. This is one of my favourites, probably because I come from a sailing family. My father was the commodore at our local sailing club when I was a child and many a weekend was spent sailing and running the tuck shop and even the bar (as a private club it wasn’t as forbidden (way-)back then).

I kept this card simple, using just three colours, Basic Gray, Smokey Slate and the retiring Blueberry Bushel DSP. Images stamped ans die cut in Basic Grey ink onto Basic Grey cardstock and Layered onto Smokey Slate with cutouts using the Stitched Rectangles backed with DSP of choice (in my case Blueberry Bushel). It makes an effective card which in my opinion looks more complex than it actually is to produce.

I also created a more child friendly version of the card, similar layout and approach but using the Special Someone and coordinating Special Day dies in Whisper White, Gray Granite, Blackberry Bliss, Shaded Spruce and Pumpkin Pie.

I hope you enjoyed my Masculine Make themed projects and the rest of the Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop projects.
